Ruby Marie was born in Berwyn, Oklahoma to John Leander & Ruby Lavinia (Smith) Sutton. She grew up in Berwyn/Gene Autry living with her Aunt Ola & Uncle George Vineyard after her mothers death in 1929. She graduated from High school as valedictorian in 1931. She Played Basketball for the Whippets and won many awards for her school She married John WInifred "Dink" Harris on March 21, 1931 at Ardmore. They lived in Sulphur several years. She worked for 28 years for the Department of Human Services. After her retirement she moved to New Orleans for 10 years. She moved back to Edmond in 2004 to be near her daughter. She had served as President of the Womens Republican Assn. He favorite past time was reading, she was a avid collector of books.
She was preceded in death by her husband John in August 1990, he parents, 2 sons: Jimmy & Ernest Harris, 1 daughter: Shirley Jean Harris, 2 Sisters: Arzella Gardner, Juanita Clark, 2 brothers: George Sutton & Jerome Sutton.
Survivors: Daughters & spouses: Marilyn & Eugene Laubach of Edmond, Judith & John Dobson of McPherson, Kansas, Son & spouse: John W. & Constance Harris of Edmond, Son: Jerry Kent Harris of Pueto Escondia, Mexico 16 Grandchildren 17 Great Grandchildren
Services: Saturday November 29 at 1:00PM at the DeArman's Clagg Funeral Chapel in Sulphur with interment in Oaklawn Cemetery
