Virginia D. (nee Dague) Saddler, 78, of Elyria, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008, at her home.

She was born Nov. 16, 1929, in Lorain. Virginia was a registered nurse and worked at Lorain Community Hospital, working with Dr. Michael Kolczun until her retirement. She was chaplin of the Daughters of the American Revolution Nathan Perry Chapter and program chairperson for Fourthurs. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed entertaining during the holidays. She was an avid reader and gardner.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Charles) Saddler-Jefferys of Mount Gilead; son, Stuart (Ellen) of Elyria; grandchildren, Rebecca (Nathan) Parker, Sarah, Stephen, Michael and Natalie; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Berkley; and brother, John (Peggy) Dague of Medina.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Howard M.; son, Andrew; parents, Clair Earnest and Mary Bernice (Kuhn) Dague; and niece, Rebecca Dague-Marec.

Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at state Route 57), Elyria. The Rev. Church Beherens will officiate.

Burial: Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.

Visiting hours: 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family strongly suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Schoepfle Gardens, c/o Lorain County Metroparks, 12882 Diagonal Road, Lagrange, 44050.
