Bobby L. Meeks
Princeton - Bobby L. Meeks, 82, passed away Monday DEc. 1, 2008 at the Charlier VNA Hospice Center in Evansville.
He was born on May 22, 1926 in Robinson, Ill. to Otis and Agnes (Parker) Meeks.
Bobby graduated from Patoka High School in 1945 ans attended Oakland City College. He was employed at White River Material Co., Pacific Press and Shear and retired as the Gibson County Highway Superintendent after 10 years. He was a member of the Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton. Bobby served in the U.S. Navy during WW II in the Pacifi aboard the USS Wheatland. He was a member of the VFW Post 1147, Patoka Columbia Masonic Lodge, the Princeton Country Club and a former member of the Scottish Rite and Hadi Shrine.
Bobby is Survived by his wife of 55 years, Zoan Meeks of Princeton; 3 sons and daughter-in-law, Phillip Meeks of Evansville, John Meeks of Evansville and Robbie and Tammy Meeks of Martinsville, Indiana; 5 grandchildren, Jared, Tanisha, Austin and Spicey Meeks and Chad Price; 6 great grandchildren, Kailyn, Hailee and Payton Meeks, Avery Reuter, and Lexie and Gabriel Price; 2 brothers, Von Meeks of Henderson, Kentucky and Howard Meeks of Mount Carmel, Illinois; Many nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Edwin and Max Meeks.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday Dec. 4, 2008 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will be at the Hazleton Community Cemtery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Colvin Funeral Home. VFW 1147 will conduct military graveside services.
