Mrs. Kliefoth Funeral Held

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Kliefoth, 76, were held Monday afternoon, June 28, 1954, at 1:45 o'clock from the Schultz Funeral Home to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock with Rev. R. C. Schlueter officiating.

Burial was in the City Cemetery.

She died at the Postville Hospital, Thursday evening, June 24, at 8:10 o'clock, where she had been taken June 20. She had been ill since last March and entered the Postville hosptial March 23, for medical treatment. She was released from the hospital after being a patient there 17 days. She remained at her home until her last illness.

As Mathilda, she was born the daughter of John and Marie Nee Hoth, Baade in Giard Township, November 3, 1877. She was married to Henry Kliefoth at Farmersburg by Rev, F. Braun. February 27, 1901. For a number of years, they lived on a farm south of Luana.

They then moved to a farm south-east of Monona, which is now the Ted Baade farm, living there for about 30 years. Mr. Kliefoth, died in March 1933. The next year, Mrs. Kliefoth moved to Monona, which had been her home since that time.

She was a member of St. Paul's Ladies Aid Society.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Louise Gilster, two brothers, Henry and William Baade, a half-brother, Gustav, and a half-sister Ida.

She is survived by two sons, Clarence of Tempe, Arizona, and Harry of Monona, four sisters, Mrs. George (Etta) Schmitt of Blunt, South Dakota, Mrs. John (Jennie) Case of Yuma, Arizonia, and Mrs. Herbert (Laura) Hupfer and Mrs. Enoch (Leona) Anderson, both of McGregor, two brothers, Arthur and George, two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Henry Baade, and Mrs. Fred Funk, one brother-in-law, Fred Gilster, one granddaughter, Mrs. Oliver (Gerlnne Kliefoth) Lovett, and one great-granddaughter, Tonia Lovett of Tempe, Arizonia.

Music at the services were provided by a quartet composed of Mrs. Leonard Oslon, Mrs. R. C. Schlueter, Keith Lunde, and Rev. Schlueter, Mrs. George Heins Jr., was the organist.

Pallbearers were Ted Starr, and Gene Baade, Max Hupfer, LeRoy Hoth, and Bernell Kliefold.
