Andrew Jackson Newby, 91, of McMinnville, died in Nashville at 11:30 o'clock Friday night. The funeral was held Monday morning from the Chapel of the John W. High Funeral Home with the Rev. William H. Moss, Pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in the Mountain View cemetery. Born in Warren county October 29, 1855, he was a son of James Newby and Rebecca Marler Newby. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. S.M. Ford; a stepson Claude Earl; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Queen Bates; two brothers, Henderson Newby and Lowery Newby; a sister, Mrs. Rebecca Wheeler; and two granddaughters, Mrs. Hattie Lewis and Mrs. Mazell Parker.
