Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at the First Presbyterian Church in Beatrice, Nebraska.

Douglas G. Hansen, 46 years of age, of Fairbury, Nebraska, formerly of Beatrice, NE. passed away at his home in Fairbury Sunday afternoon, October 6, 2002. He was born on July 11, 1956 at Superior, NE. and was a 1975 graduate of Ruskin High School, Ruskin, NE. He and Kris Brown were married on March 17, 1978 in Lincoln, NE. He moved to Beatrice from Deshler, NE. in 1989 and then to Fairbury, NE. in 2002. He had been employed as a custodian and the Beatrice Middle School in Beatrice, NE. for 9 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Beatrice, NE. and was a former member of the Beatrice Jaycees and and a former coach for the Y.R.I. in Beatrice, NE. He enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing and auto racing.

Survivors include his wife Kris of Fairbury, NE.; 2 daughter, Tonya Arellano and her husband John of Hastings, NE., and Jayme Hardisty of Fairbury, NE.; one son Corey Hansen and his wife Jennifer of Beatrice, NE.; 6 grandchildren and 2 step granddaughters; parents Kenneth and Donna (Boitnott) Hansen of Ruskin, NE.; brother Dennis Hansen and his wife Donna of Tipton, Iowa; grandmothers Mabel Hansen of Nelson, NE. and Arilla Davidson of Hebron, NE.; parents in law Jim and Ardis Brown of Lincoln, NE.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at the First Presbyterian Church in Beatrice, NE. with Dr. Jimmy Shelbourn officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, NE. The body will lie in state from 11:00 - 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, NE. and at the church one hour proceeding the service. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 A.M. Wednesday at the church. A memorial has been established to the families choice with the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, NE. in charge. Messages of condolence may be sent to [email protected] They will be forwarded to the family.
