Abilene, Jan. 29-
Monoxide poisoning today claimed the life of a Coyal Compton, 27, who claimed he was abducted at Eastland two weeks ago and prevented from testifying in a murder trial.
J. P. Anderson, an oil man, found Compton’s body in an automobile.
The motor of the machine was running and a garden hose attached to the exhaust pipe was poked through a window of the car, Anderson said.
Compton had been dead a short time.
He was to have been a witness in the trail of an Eastland Texas man who was charged with murder without malice in the auto death of (Compton's best friend), Lee Guy of Abilene.
Compton disappeared a few minutes before being called as a witness.
He claimed two men kidnapped him from the courthouse.
The defendant was given a five year suspended sentence.
