“Funeral Set Today for Billie Compton
Billie Compton, 23, son of Mrs. R. B. Compton, Sr., died Tuesday afternoon at the family residence, 1543 North Second street.
Funeral will be held at Laughter Funeral home at 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, with burial following in a local cemetery.
Mr. Compton was born August 25, 1915 in Abilene. Survivors include the mother, a brother, Bob, and a sister, Mrs. Joe Ellis, all of Abilene.
Pallbearers will be Jack Sayles, Clem Boulte, Bob Brown, Dr. Guy Gillespie, R. C. Grisham, and Morris Sayles.”
Billie was born with hemophilia, which no doubt contributed to his death from acute nephritis.
