Mrs. Sylvia Mae Lieb, 88, died Thursday, Feb. 14, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Marlow in Atkinson where she had been living and confined to special care for some time. Mrs. Marlow is her daughter.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Milan S. Coleman, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Jay Jungman played the organ music and hymns were sung by Mrs. Richard Braun and Mrs. Dean Gotschall.

Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Grandsons who served as pallbearers were Robert Lieb, Max Lipskey, Elmer Shaffer, Elroy Lieb, Lyle Lieb and Chris Lieb.

Mrs. Lieb was born to Joel Dollarhide and Sarah Merideth Dollarhide on December 19, 1875, at Knoxville, Iowa. She was married to Chris H. Lieb on August 9, 1892, at Council Bluffs, Iowa.

She had been a resident of Holt County for 53 years and of Atkinson for 29 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband in October, 1951; one son, Christ, Jr., and one daughter, Lena Mae.

Surviving are two sons, James of Clay Center, and Ernest of Cheyenne, Wyo.; three daughters, Mrs. Lee (Sarah) Marlow of Atkinson, Mrs. Joe (Mary Alice) Lipskey of Alvo, and Mrs. Elmer (Mildred) Shaffer of Atkinson.

Mrs. Lieb was the last member of a large family. She had 24, grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren.

Out-of-town relatives who were here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. James Lieb and daughter, Linda, of Clay Center; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Lieb and Jack Lieb of Sutton; Mrs. Jerry Peterson of Edgar; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lieb and children of Wilcox; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Knight and boys of Holyoke, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Fredricks of Norfolk; Mr. and Mrs. Lorn Walton of Ewing; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lipskey of Alvo; Mr. and Mrs. Max Lipskey and son, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Lipskey, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lipskey and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Anderson and children, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Spath and children, all of Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Val Pichler of Grand Island; Mr. and Mrs. Lon Pickler of Norfolk; Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Finch of Orchard; Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Lieb and boys of O'Neill; Lyle Lieb and son of Omaha; Mrs. Merwyn L. Parks of O'Neill; Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Gillett of Chambers; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson of Newport; Mrs. John Weichman of Stuart.

Ernest Lieb of Cheyenne was unable to come because of the illness of his wife.
