Myrtle Maude (Roberts) Boyce, 102, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Barbara J. Egan Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Shrewsbury, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Oliver Boyce.

Born January 25, 1907, in Este, W.Va., Myrtle was the daughter of the late Lone and Nan (Crouse) Roberts. Myrtle was a founding member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Stewartstown, and led a full life devoted to her Lord and Savior and her family. She retired in 1972 after 29 years of service at the former Stewartstown Manufacturing Company, and was previously employed for several years at the former Beta Shoe factory, Bel Air, Md. During WWII, Myrtle was employed at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Aberdeen, Md. She knew what hard times and hard work were, yet she experienced many good times and enjoyed the simple things in life. Her family members are very thankful to have had her in their lives for so many years.

Maude is survived by seven children, Hassel Boyce of North Carolina, Daniel Boyce of West Virginia, Nile Boyce of Parkton, Md., Keith Boyce and Eithel Keller, both of Red Lion, and Velma Holloway and Linda Lee, both of Stewartstown; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Clara Blake of Ronceverte, W.Va. She was preceded in death by four children, Delbert and Gerald Boyce, Lena Cox, and Gladys Delozier; and three brothers.

Interment will be in New Bethel Baptist Cemetery, Stewartstown.
