- Marjory L. Foster, 89, resident of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in Coeur d'Alene. She was born Sept. 28, 1918, in Rice County, Minn., to Arthur G. Lips and Bertha (Amacher) Lips. She married James C. Foster on Aug. 11, 1944, in Santa Ana, Calif.
Marjory graduated from Faribault High School with the Class of 1936. She was a WW II veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and achieved the rank of Corporal. She was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League, Pappy Boyington Detachment 966. Marjory moved to the area in the fall of 1980 from Yucca Valley, Calif. She was an Administrative Secretary for the Unified School District in Laguna Beach, Calif., retiring in 1980.
She is survived by her son, G. Foster of Santa Ana; daughter, S. Murphy of Coeur d'Alene; sister, E. Zimmerman of Cannon Falls; brother, E. Lips of Faribault; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, also many loved nieces and nephews.
Marjory was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 60 years, James C. Foster.
