The youngest son of Thomas & Sarah Williamson. He & his wife Emily are the only graves located in the Williamson/Jones Cemetery that has a roof built over them & a white picket fence around them. The family story is that G.W. fulfilled a promise he made to his wife when she died. She had requested that a roof be put over her grave to keep the rain off. He and his wife had 12 children, 10 who lived past infancy, that settled in & around Tuscaloosa county, Alabama. He was a prominent planter & farmer near the New Hope area of Fayette county Alabama. He died at the Moore's Bridge Baptist Church while attending an association meeting. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and the Masonic lodge of Bankston.
