Professional Football Player. Born Richard Lee Daugherty, he was raised in Ohio. He played at the guard, linebacker and center positions for six seasons (1951 to 1953, 1956 to 1958) in the National Football League with the Los Angeles Rams. He was a member of the 1951 NFL Champion Rams' team. After playing collegiate football at the University of Oregon, Daugherty was chosen by the Rams in the 18th round of the 1951 NFL Draft. He appeared in 69 career regular season games and achieved both All-Pro and Pro Bowl status in 1957. His career was interrupted while he served in the United States Air Force. Daugherty, while at the University of Oregon received a degree in Business Administration. He worked as a stockbroker following his career in football. He died of complications from Alzheimer's disease.
