John Austin Bryant, 62, of Ephrata, went to be with the Lord peacefully from his home on July 26, 1999.

He was born on July 9, 1937 to Orvil and Hallie Brooks Bryant. His family moved to the Wenatchee valley on Thanksgiving Day 1947.

John was a very caring and loving man. He was a respected member of the Washington State Patrol for 23 years when he retired in 1981. He was a member of the WA State Patrol Retirees, the American Legion and a past president of the Eagles. He loved to travel with his family and just sit and watch the ocean.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret (Peggy) Boyles Bryant of the home; three children, a daughter, Rebecca Banes and husband, Mike of Texas, a son, John Bryant, Jr. of Ephrata and a daughter, Cindy Bleily and husband, Mike of Goldbar; seven grandchildren who adored him, Christopher Bryant of Albuquerque, NM, Michael Banes and Rachael (Adam) Wear of Texas, Ajonna Bryant, Tom Bleily, Amber Bleily and Brandy Bleily all of Goldbar; two brothers, J.J. and wife, Kathy Bryant and Keith and wife, Lottie Bryant of Wenatchee.

John was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Memorial services for John will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 1999 at the Nicoles Funeral Home Chapel, Ephrata with the Reverend Richard Coghill officiating.

Arrangements are in care of Nicoles Funeral Home, Ephrata.
