United States Military Officer. Served as commanding officer of the 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. In 1921, along with his wife, Gladys, he would take up the challenge to create a patch for the 1st Cavalry. The patch was ultimately approved used by the division to this day. Colonel Dorcy remained in command of the 7th Cavalry until his death in 1926.
