Bobbie L. Lyle, 69, of San Mateo, died Saturday, May 5, 2007, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka following a brief illness.
She was a native of Cottonwood, Ala., and had been a resident of Fernandina Beach from 1961 to 1989, coming from Jacksonville. She had resided in San Mateo for the last 18 years. She was formerly employed by Community Medical Center in Palatka, where she worked in housekeeping. She had been active in the Order of the Eastern Star in Fernandina Beach, where she was a Past Worthy Matron. She attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in Palatka. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and outdoor activities with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence James Lyle.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Carol Lyle of Palatka, and David and Peggy Lyle of Marshfield, Wis.; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Richard Whidden of Alexandria, Va.; three sisters, Votie Hodge and Bennie Smith, both of Dothan, Ala., and Johnell Hawkins of Aiken, S.C.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at Masters Funeral Home with Rev. Wes Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill West Cemetery in Palatka. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 8 May 2007.)
