OKOLONA - Sadie Lewis, 90, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at the Shearer Richardson Nursing Center in Okolona after a long illness. She was born Sept. 8, 1916, to Joe and Rena Jolly Lewis in Chickasaw County, where she lived her entire life. She was a homemaker. She lived simply, peacefully and in harmony with nature, God and her fellow man for more than eight decades in the old Lewis family home on the family land. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, and loved her extended Lewis family.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Okolona Chapel of Holland-Harris Funeral Directors with Bro. Eugene Thornton and Sis. Lounez Scrivner officiating. Burial will follow in Boone's Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include one sister, Lora Dell Cruse of Okolona; 12 nieces and 11 nephews, including her primary caregivers, Billy and Glenda Wooten; several great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Allie Mae Wooten and Louvenia Kilgo; and two brothers, Johnny Lewis and Buck Sullivan.

Pallbearers will be Earl Lewis, Ed Lewis, Sammy Lewis, Melvin Cruse, Nolan Belcher and Jimmy Cruse.
Visitation will be from noon to service time today at the Okolona Chapel.
