Jay Pickrel, 51 years old, who was critically injured December 22 in a motor car accident which took the life of his wife, Mrs. Josephine Pickrel, died about 11:45 o'clock last night at the York General hospital.
Mr. Pickrel suffered a skull fracture in the accident which occurred southeast of Aurora on the Stockham road. Mrs. Pickrel died on December 30.
A double funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church. The Rev. S. B. Thomas of Aurora and Dr. Robert E. Matthews will officiate.
Mr. Pickrel was born at Seward, Neb., and was associated with the Burlington railroad all of his adult life. At the time of his fatal injury he was roadmaster for the Lincoln division. The couple was married, February 4, 1922.
They leave two children, Mrs. Lyle H. Bredenkamp, Waco, and a son, Richard Pickrel, who has just returned home from Japan where he was stationed with the Armed Forces.
Mrs. Pickrel leaves in addition to her children, two sisters, Mrs. Joe Archer, Modesto, Cailf., and Mrs. Iona Hilyer, Lead, S. D., and two brothers, Harold Wilcox, Neosho, Mo., and Wilford Wilcox, Granby, Mo.
Mr. Pickrel leaves a sister, Mrs. Gene Harney, Grand Island, and three brothers, Bert Pickrel, Reno, Nev., Glen Pickrel, Seward, and John Woods, Denver.
