Television Journalist. During his more than forty years at NBC, he is best known for his work as an international correspondent. He is also remembered for his economic reports, which became a fixture during newscasts. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, he was educated at Brown University and later studied at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. He began his career as an obituary writer with the Providence Journal before joining NBC as a Korean War correspondent in 1950. His reporting would take him to dozens of nations around the globe, among them the Soviet Union, Italy, England and Vietnam. After retiring from television in 1995, Levine served as Dean of the College of International Communication at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. In addition, he authored several books which include the bestseller "Main Street, U.S.S.R." (1959). He died from prostate cancer.
