Clyde "Bud" Hocken, 88, of La Porte City, died Wednesday, March 25, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, following a long illness.

He was born April 29, 1920, in Winthrop, son of Gary and Mary Niebeck Hocken. He married Bonnie Snell in 1958 in La Porte City.

He graduated from Winthrop High School in 1939. Mr. Hocken was a mechanic at International Harvester dealers in Marion and Waterloo and retired from Bader Implement in La Porte City.

He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, La Porte City.

Survived by: his wife; and two brothers, Delbert (Jennie) of Cedar Falls and Ralph (Doris) of La Porte City.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Glen; and a sister, Mabel Chesmore.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at La Porte City Funeral Service, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
