Earl R. Rice, 59 of Route 3, Fulton, died Oct. 5 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, where he had been a patient since Sept. 25. He was born Sept. 28, 1924 in Callaway County the son of Roger and Elizabeth Phillips Rice. He was married to the former Minnie Hughes, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Earl Keith, Fulton; three daughters, Janice Humphrey, Fulton, Kathy and Kim Rice, both of Columbia; five brothers, Harry, Fulton, Fred, Pueblo, Colo., Irvin, Louisville, Ky., and Sanford and Leroy, both of the state of Washington; two sisters, Ila Turpin, California, and Bonnie Powell, Fulton; and two grandaughters.
Mr. Rice was employed by Harbison-Walker for 28 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Maupin Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Bartlett officiating. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. this evening.
