Candace Brooks, 87, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Alton, died January 3 in Doctor's Regional Medical Center, Poplar Bluff. She was born November 21, 1893 in Alton. MO.
She was married to Richard Brooks. He preceded her in death in 1931.
Mrs. Brooks was a magistrate and probate clerk in Poplar Bluff.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Alton.
Survivors include one son, Wayne Brooks of Poplar Bluff, MO; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, A.D. McGuire of Shelton, WA; and A.B. McGuire of Myrtle Creek, OR.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and three brothers.
Graveside services were held Tuesday in the Smith Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
