Charles Walter Allen, Jr., 70, of Panama City, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009. He was born August 31, 1938 in Georgetown, South Carolina and had been a resident of Panama City for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; Charles & Martha B. Allen Sr., and a brother, Charlton H. Allen. He is survived by his five children; Linda Allen, David (Suzanne) Allen, Daniel Allen, Lynette (Steve) Simmermaker, Dwight (Annette) Allen; nine grandchildren, sister, Nelah (Doug) McComsey; step mother; Annie Lou (Calvin) Koesy; former wife, Alice Thompson and special friend, Geanie Flanagan. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Michael Claunch officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 – 2 p.m. prior to the service. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the St. Andrew Baptist Church Building Fund, 3010 W 15th Street, Panama City, FL 32401 in memory of Charles Allen, Jr.
