Nancy Effie Walker, age 94, was born May 1, 1903 and passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 1997 at Mercy Siena Nursing Home, Dayton, Ohio.
She was a member of Taylor's Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Walker of Sharps Chapel; daughter Maxie Clawson, Dayton, Ohio; David, Kenneth and Lorene Walker of Sharps Chapel; and son-in-law Roy Clawson; grandson Ricky Clawson of Dayton; father and mother, Schofield and Mary Beeler of Greenback; brothers, Dewey and Tell Beeler; sisters, Beulah Fridley and Hadley Walker; stepchildren, Elsie Woods, Etta Williams, Milas Walker, Goldie Cain, Oma Walker, and Hazel Wiggins.Survivors: grandchildren, Jackie, Regina, Danny, Lois, Terry, and Cathy Clawson of Dayton, Ohio; six great grandchildren, Angie, Debbie, Danielle, Valerie, Jackie, Missy; two step-children, Malcom [sic] Walker and Opal MacBride; a host of nieces, nephews and friends; a special niece, Inez Bowen of New Tazewell, who gave her the name of "Granny Eff."Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15 in Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.C. Monday and Rev. Lloyd England officiating. Music by Barbara Hatfield. Burial in the Stiners Cemetery, Sharps Chapel. Claiborne Funeral Home in charge.
