DECATUR - Doris R. Stephens, 88, of Decatur, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at McKinley Court Nursing Home, Decatur.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. Family requests casual attire.

Doris was born on February 28, 1921, in Decatur, the daughter of Charles Arthur and Clementine (Ballance) Greenwood. She married Edgar Junior Stephens on August 5, 1939, in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death in May 1988.
Doris previously worked for General Electric for several years. She was a 51 year member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #111. Doris loved Bingo, fishing, and mushroom hunting.
Surviving are her daughters Iris Jean Steele and husband Larry of Pekin, IL, Judith Ann Sharp and husband Dewey of Blue Mound, IL; grandchildren Kim, Keith, Melody, Dewey Dale; twelve great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, and one sister.
