Bonnie received her primary education through the seventh grade at District #62 in Furnas County and then graduated from Wilsonville High School at Wilsonville, Nebraska with the class of 1944. Following her education, Bonnie was united in marriage to Glen LeRoy Walton on December 14, 1944 at Norton, Kansas and to this union three children were born: Sharon, Dennis and Micheal. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Bonnie was employed as a Nurses Aide at Holdrege Memorial Homes for a couple of years before she went to work for Becton-Dickinson in 1968. In 1980, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen. Bonnie continued her employment at B-D for twenty-four years until her retirement in 1992. In 2007 she moved to Kearney to live with her daughter.
Throughout the years, Bonnie had been active with the First Baptist Church and the Assembly of God Church both of Holdrege. She was also a member of the Becton-Dickinson Alumni. Bonnie enjoyed gardening, embroidering, sewing, and loved babysitting for her family.
She leaves to mourn her passing her three children: Sharon Anderson and her husband, Kenneth of Kearney, Dennis Walton of Holdrege and Micheal Walton of Hastings, Nebraska; four grandchildren: Ron Matson of Kearney, Wendy Johnson of Bertrand, Cheri Matson of Hastings and Glen Walton of Loomis, Nebraska; four great-grandchildren: Cody, Alexander, Madison and Abby; one sister, Maxine Stewart of Ozark, Missouri; two brothers: William J. Ryan, Jr. and his wife, Berdena of Sun City, Arizona, and Danny Ryan and his wife, Diane of Omaha, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Dennis Bergstrom of Funk, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Nettie Ryan of San Diego, California and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Edgar, Donald and Robert Ryan; sister, Murna Bergstrom and two brothers-in-law: Jay Vice and Fred Stewart.
