Census of 1850 Tippah Co MS No 1281, shows George age 12, born Tn;
1860 KY, Graves Co , #2029 Twp Mayfield shows GEORGE age 21, born MS.
1880 KY, Graves Co, #23-25, pg 345 Water Valley Twp, GEORGE S. age 42, born MS, Father born VA, mother born TN.

*No 1870 census has been found with George listed, family story is that he was in Louisiana at that time.
MARRIAGE: 11 Nov 1883, to AMANDA ELIZABETH DAVIS, dau of Morgan DAVIS and Elizabeth pos. Phillips at Rock Springs Church, Fulton Co KY, bond by her brother Layfette DAVIS, bond dated 3 Nov 1883 at Hickman, Fulton Co KY.
Died in possibly Fulton, KY, per the Obituary published in the Paducah Sun, on Thursday Evening, May 16, 1901, which states "George Slayden Dies at Fulton, and continues "the remains were buried today at Pleasant Hill cemetery. Pleasant Hill Cemetery is located on the North side Latta Road in the South Western part of Graves County near the Hickman County line.
left a note saying to "bury my body at Pleasant Hill" Cemetery, yet no stone has been found there.
CHILDREN: Arthur Cleveland; Morgan Davis aka Con S.; Olivia E; and Mary Ann (Mae).
MILITARY: G. S. Slayden, age 25, Graves Co, KY resident, born TN, white, farmer, single, with no prior Civil War confederate service appears on the U. S. Civil War Draft Registrations Records,1863-1865, under Graves Co, KY, Class 1, Congressional Dist 1st, on the page enumerated June 1863. This name is right below him is:
B. M. Slayden, age 23, white, Farmer, single, born MS, prior service with Confederate States of America.
B. M. Slayden and George S. Slayden were brothers, resided in Graves Co, KY and were these ages. This is probably our George Slayden, but no further military records have been located.
