William M. Yarger was the 11th of 12 children born to David Yarger, Jr. and Nancy Jane Fisher.

He married Elizabeth Kuhns on 25 Aug 1887 at her home in McWilliams, Redbank Twp., Armstrong Co., PA. The marriage ceremony was performed by friend and neighbor, G. W. Hankey, Justice of the Peace.

William owned and operated a Lumberyard in Redbank Twp., Armstrong Co., PA. He also served several terms as Redbank Township Treasurer.

He was a religious man, having read the Bible "cover to cover" three times.

Attending services at Mt. Carmel Evangelical United Brethren Church, his customary place was in the "Amen" corner - so called because of the collective "Amen!" bellowed from these gentlemen whenever the minister said something profound.

William died at the old Yarger homestead near McWilliams, Redbank Twp., Armstrong Co., PA.

He was buried 28 Jan 1948 in Timblin next to his beloved wife, Lizzie.
