John Victor Snyder was born near Timblin in Ringgold Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.

He was the son of Philip Snyder and Lena Geist.

John married Minerva Jane Shaffer on 10 Jan 1889 in Ringgold, Jefferson Co., PA. The marriage ceremony was performed by E.A. Holben, Justice of the Peace.

He was a butcher and owned the local meat market in Timblin, Jefferson Co., PA for many years. His son, Percy, joined him in the family business.

John died at Adrian Hospital in Punxsutawney, PA and was buried 26 Jan 1935.
