Nora was the fourth daughter of Enriqueta Lyles and Hilario Lopez Vasquez. She was baptized by Father Brocadus Eeken. Her Godparents were Vicente Galindo and Jesus Galindo.

She married Alfredo Brijalba Sr "Cheve". After her husband's untimely death in 1952, she shouldered the responsibility of raising her family. Nora worked for various local County agencies. Before her tragic death, she had managed the Saragosa Community Council which ran the Headstart Program. Nora, along with several close family members, was a victim of the 1987 Saragosa Tornado which decimated the Community Center building during a Pre-Kindergarten graduation ceremony.
