Anna spent her entire life in Platte County, Nebraska. After her marriage to Henry, they lived for a time at Monroe and Platte Center eventually moving to a farm northwest of Platte Center. She died from burns resulting from an explosion when she opened a stove after replenishing the fuel supply. The coal gas exploded and ignited her clothing. She died at the Lutheran Good Samaritan Hospital. She was a devout member of the Lutheran faith and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church northwest of Platte Center.
Survivors were her husband, a son Leonard Brunken and a daughter, Luella Brunken.
