Mary Wade Hubler was born in Hudsonville, Penn., March 16, 1833, and died at Fairfax, Oklahoma, June 25, 1918. She was married to Robert T. Alcorn Dec 4, 1851, who died Feb 5, 1870. She was the mother of five children, two of whom survive her, Mrs. D.L. Hubler of Fairfax, Ok and Scott Alcorn of Ponca City. Her son S.T. Alcorn of Perry preceded her three years ago. She leaves six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren among those who mourn the loss of a good mother.

Her early life was spent in Pennsylvania, coming overland to Iowa with her husband in 1856 and later to Perry, Ok at the opening of the Strip where she has since resided on a farm near Sumner until October 1917 when she went to her daughters home in Fairfax where on June 25, after a five months continued illness she quietly went to sleep surrounded by her beloved children with whom her last years had been spent. Her body was brought to Perry and laid by that of her mother in Grace Hill Cemetery.
