Martha was the daughter on Littleton Ozro and Mary Elizabeth Pugh Gooch. Her mother died when she was less than 2 years old and she was raised by a very loving step-mother. She married Walter Elvis Brown on Jan. 30, 1895. They were the parents of Clyde Alton, Mary Erin, Oren Waldon, Vesta, Edna Odell, and Nancy Mae. She was a very kind and hard working mother and wife. My grandmother always spoke with a very loving attitude toward her mother. She always told me she was a very happy woman who loved her family very much.
