Funeral services for Jane Fraser Bradley were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 13, in the First United Methodist Church of Natchitoches, La. with Rev. Donald Avery and Rev. Jacqueline King officiating.
An additional service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 16, at Jernigan Methodist Church in Cottonton with Rev. Jesse Shackelford officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bradley, 75, of Natchitoches, La., died Tuesday, March 10, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches, La. She was a native of Atlanta, Ga. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She attended high school at North Avenue Presbyterian School (NAPS) in Atlanta, Ga., graduating in 1951. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She attended Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga. She remained an active alumni of both schools and has kept up with all her classmates over the years. She married John in 1952 in Atlanta, and they spent many years being loving and devoted parents to five children. Following her youngest child completing high school, she followed her father's (Young Fraser, a prominent defense attorney in Atlanta) footsteps in the legal field and received her Paralegal Degree from Northwestern State University (NSU) and worked for several years at the Jack Brittain Law office.
She was also an active member of First United Methodist Church and a faithful member of the 50/50 Sunday School class in Natchitoches. She was actively involved in the United Methodist Women. Jane was also an active supporter of the Wesley Campus Ministry at NSU, holding several positions in the organization. She touched the lives of so many through her grace and faith. She was preceded in death by son Frederick Carl Bradley, parents William Erskine Fraser and Emily Jane Wimpy Fraser and brothers William Erskine Fraser and Young Harris Fraser.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John B. Bradley of Natchitoches, La.; daughters Dr. Jayni Bradley of Watkinsville, Ga.; Faye Smyth of Bradenton, Fla. and Julea Hovey of Aiken, S. C.; son John B. Bradley Jr. of Augusta, Ga.; grandchildren Bryan Bradley, Mary Catherine Bradley, Bradley Thomas, James Thomas, Emily Thomas, Preston Smyth, Peyton Smyth and Cullen Hovey. Pallbearers will be Nettles Brown, Tommy Covington, David Poston, Dan Poole, Sonny Evans and Larry Kirkland.
Ushers will be Jim Reichel and Jackie Bryant.
