He is survived by his mother, Ermaline Wassinger Benoit of Houma; three sons, John Benoit and wife, Rene, of Houma, Justin Benoit and wife, Evelia, of Algiers, and Jeremy Benoit of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; six brothers, David Benoit of Lafayette, Richard Benoit and wife, Debi, of Houma, Thomas Benoit and wife, Karen, of Houma, Pete Benoit and wife, Denise, of Houma, and Joey Benoit and wife, Patricia, of Houma; two sisters, Yvonne Breaux of Theriot and Mary Benoit and companion, Kenny Westerman, of Houma; two grandchildren, Madeline Grace Benoit and Sophia Evelia Benoit; special companion, Karen Babin of Houma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilson Joseph Benoit; his grandparents, Fernest and Iba Benoit and Nicholas and Mary Wassinger; and one brother-in-law, Nelson Breaux.
He was a supervisor for Exxon, an avid golfer and a veteran of the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army.
He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
