William Eaton Abernathy, 82, resident of the Belt vicinity since 1888, died at his ranch home early Tuesday morning. The body is at the Merrill mortuary.
Mr. Abernathy was born in Illinois in Sept 1852. He has spent many years in the Belt vicinity operating a ranch.
He was a member of Cascade Masonic Lodge No. 38.
There survive a daughter, Mrs. Tillie McCoy of Belt, and two sons, M. E. Abernathy of Stockett and W. E. Abernathy of Los Angeles. Four brothers and three sisters, residing at Marion, Ia, also survive. Mrs. Abernathy passed away many years ago.
