He was a son of the late Homer "Susie" Herron and Allie Stanley Herron. He was a retired welder with ACF in Huntington, W.Va., a Vietnam Army veteran and a lifetime member of Grayson VFW Post 3705.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald D. Herron.
He is survived by his fiancée, Kay Bradford of Grayson; Kay's children whom he loved dearly, James, Steven, Tracie and Keith, and her seven grandchildren and a great-grandson. He is also survived by his sister, Bonnie Vanover of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
