Richard H. DeWitte of Jacksonville, Fl died March 25, 2009. Mr. DeWitte was born September, 29 1928 to John and Helen DeWitte (Brinkmeyer) of Jasper Minnesota.
Mr. DeWitte worked as a farmer in Pipestone County Minnesota, married Doris M. Shields in 1950. They had 7 children and moved to Winter Haven, FL in 1965 where he lived and worked for American Bakeries until he retired in 1975. He moved to the Jacksonville area in 2006 and resided in the kind and loving care of the staff, residents and friends at Westminister Woods on Julington Creek since 2007.
Mr. DeWitte was preceded in death by his wife Helen Cunningham DeWitte, daughter Doreen Faye DeWitte, son John Joseph DeWitte, his parents John and Helen DeWitte and his brother Dale DeWitte.
Mr. DeWitte is survived by his sons, Alan (Donna), Richard (Debra) and Tom (Elba), his daughters Diane (Christopher) Van den Avont and Ann Black. Mr. DeWitte had 12 grandchildren and 7 great grand children, 1 brother David DeWitte of Fullerton CA, 3 sisters Dorothy Hulzebos of Hoffman, MN Jacqueline Duffy of Sioux Falls, SD and Margaret Ellman of Salem SD.
