Jasper D. Smith, 63 years of age, died at his home at Curry last Thursday, May 17, at 11:40 o'clock. Born in Winn Parish and a resident in the home where he died for thirty-seven years, Mr. Smith was well known and counted scores of friends in this parish. Funeral services were held at the Couley [sic Corley] graveyard Friday afternoon at three o'clock with the Rev. Henry Lewis in charge.
The deceased is survived by his widow, two sons, Judge and Jay Smith of Curry; one daughter, Mrs. Duby McPherson, Zenoria; two brothers, W. G. Smith, Winnsboro; and John Smith, Curry; and one sister, Mrs. William Dunn, Curry.
