Artist, designer and sculptor. Famous for his design of Canadian monuments such as the National War Memorial of Ottawa and the Champlain Monument of Orillia, Ontario. He died of pneumonia in 1930 during the construction of the National War Memorial for Ottawa, and his brothers and a sister finished his works. The Canadian government received the monument in June 1937 and it was officially opened by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939. He also created two other war memorials, one in Cape Town, South Africa and the Diamond War Memorial in the centre of "Walled City" of Derry (Londonderry) unveiled in 1927.
