Oct. 13, 1910 - Young Curtis Gaines, who has been so seriously ill for several days, is still very low, and is liable to die at any minute. His brother Dr. (W. D.)Gaines of LaFayette, has been here several days attending him.

AND.....

Oct. 15, 1910 - Curtis L. Gaines died yesterday afternon as a result of a spell of typhoid fever lasting several days. Mr. Gaines had been in a sinking condition for several days and death came about three o'clock yesterday afternoon. He died at the home of his brother Frank M. Gaines, where he has been since he came to Dothan.
Mr. Gaines was about 22 years old. He came to Dothan 3 years ago to attend school and has been making this his home since. He bore a good reputation in Dothan and his friends regret to learn of his death.
The body, accompanied by his brothers Frank M. and Robert L. Gaines of Dothan, and Dr. W. D. Gaines of LaFayette, who has been here to attend his bedside, left late this morning over the Coast Line for LaFayette where the funeral will take place.
