JoAnn Ruth Allison, 62, of Front Royal died Thursday, March 19, 2009, in her home with her husband, children, grandchildren, and family by her side.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church in Front Royal conducted by The Rev. David Sterling. Entombment will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Allison was born Feb. 25, 1947, in Winchester, VA, daughter of Raymond and Zelda Pennington Corbin. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, where she taught Children's Church. She worked for Capitol Records and the Warren County Public Schools. She was happily married to her husband Douglas Wayne Allison for 44 years.

Surviving with her husband are two daughters Suzanne Allison Neeb of Front Royal and her husband William A. Neeb, Jr. and Joyce Allison-Weiler (formerly Joyce Settle) of Front Royal and her husband Mark A. Weiler; a brother Raymond "Tooter" Corbin of Manassas; seven sisters Helen Bossert of Fairfax, Rose Sparkman of Winchester, Kathleen Keefer of Boyce, Dorothy Knupp of Front Royal, Anna Lee McCall of North Carolina, Carol Veeravan of Oklahoma City, OK, and Betty Bloch of South Carolina; and four grandchildren Alex Settle, Ryan Settle, Keaton Neeb, and Sabrie Neeb. She was preceded in death by a brother Charles Wymer and a sister Mary "Peggy" Campbell.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Reid, George Cline, Steve Lockhart, Buddy Devers, Steve Foster, and John Piazza.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Croft, Bonnie Devers, Mary Slyman, Audrey Sterling, Alice Lockhart, and Elsie Henry.

The family will receive friends on Monday 7-9 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.

She will be honored as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
