Jimmy Edward Stevens,age 69, of Maurertown, Va. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday March 21st at Winchester Medical Center. Jimmy was born July 29, 1939 in Lucedale, Miss.

He served in the Army Reserves for four years, worked as a Boilermaker for 45 years out of Pittsburgh, Pa. Local 154 and served as a Mason out of New Cumberland, W.Va. Jimmy and his wife, Marie, owned and operated a video amusement arcade called Flip Dizzy's in Manassas, Va. for several years while also opening other locations in Northern Va. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and working in his garage. His love for his family was one that will be endured and felt for all eternity. He was a strong man with a gentle spirit and soft heart. Jimmy touched so many lives while here on earth and will remain in our hearts and memory forever. Jimmy was a loving husband, supporting father, caring friend, and cherished by all his grandchildren. He was the framework for our family and was a man who was looked up to and honored.

Preceding him in death are his parents William and Minnie Stevens of Lucedale, Miss. Though we mourn the loss of your body, we know you are in heaven with Jesus and others who have gone before you, watching over us and waiting for us to be with you. We miss you and love you more than words could express. "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die." (John 11:25-26)

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marie Stevens who he married on October 29, 1961; one daughter, Sharon Stevens-Stoffel and husband, Kyle Stoffel of Woodstock; two sons Stanton Stevens of Woodstock, Va., and Mark Stevens and wife, D'Lena Stevens of Manassas, Va.; one brother, William Stevens of Lucedale, Miss. Jimmy has eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wed., March 25, 2009 at the Stover Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bill Garber officiating. Entombment will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens in the Waterlick Community of Warren County.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home from 7 to 9 Tuesday evening.
