JACKIE JOE STEPHENS, 75, of Duncan, Okla., passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Duncan.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 23, in Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Marlow, Okla., with Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
Joe was born Nov. 8, 1933, in Bray, Okla., to Charnic Stephens and Nannie M. Anderson Stephens. Joe lived in the Bray and Marlow area all of his life. He attended school at Bray, Gatlin and Marlow. Joe worked for the City of Marlow in the maintenance and parks department. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World. Joe liked to garden and take care of his pecan trees. He enjoyed listening to country music and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include a brother, Jerrell Stephens and wife Leta of Torrance, Calif.; two sisters, Darlene Rolen and husband Dois, and Mildred Gaines, all of Duncan; nine nephews, Gary and Jim Stephens, Ron and Kent Gaines, Randy, David, Rodney, Douglas and Todd Stephens; three nieces, Patricia Marshall, Bonita Tschiegg and Debbie Goins; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, R.Q. and D.T. Stephens; two nephews, Mark Gaines and Steve Rolen; a brother-in-law, Glen Gaines; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Stephens.
