Miss Nancy Sabrina Bowen was born at Wellington, Illinois on December 28, 1849. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs H H Bowen. She joined the Episcopalian Church when a young girl and remained a member until her death at 15 North Walnut, Iola, Kansas on March 21, 1931.

She was married to Alfred M Taylor, April 23, 1966. To this union nine children were born. Mr Taylor died at his home in Miami County, Kansas on January 26, 1888, leaving with her seven children, one child having died at birth and one at six months, before the father died. The other children grew to manhood and womanhood. One daughter, Florence, preceded her in death in 1913, leaving a family of five children. Mrs Taylor took the five grandchildren and cared for them until they were grown.

Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs Anna Patten, Iola; Mrs Nellie Dodd, Parsons, Kansas; Miss Fannie Taylor of the home; Harry and Lee Taylor, Iola, and Fred Taylor of Bucyrus, Kansas; seventeen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren. She is the last of seven children.

A short service was held at her home by Rev N L Vezie and singers of the United Brethren Church Sunday evening. Interment was in The McNelly Cemetery, Miami County, Monday, after a funeral service there at 2:30 in the Presbyterian Church.
