Mrs. Mary Louise Wade Taylor, 80, of 3319 Hursey Street, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2009. Mrs. Taylor was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Walter Ray Wade and Pearl Atkins Wade. She was a homemaker and loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She was a faithful member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church for 50 years where she was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class, sang in the choir and was in charge of the church tape ministry. Before her illness she enjoyed bowling, her flowers and preparing meals and driving her elderly friends to their doctor appointments.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, James, Hiram and Milton Wade. She is survived by her husband, of 69 years, William "Bill" Taylor; one son, Charles Wade Taylor, of the home; two daughters, Judy Knox and husband, Jeff, and Kay Goss, all of Durham; three brothers, Harry Wade (Gilda), of Durham, Donald Wade (Josane), of Richmond and Carlton Wade (Starr), of Durham; five sisters, Frances Morton, of Oxford, Myrtie Barbee (Bill), of Graham, Hilda Stegall, of Durham, Peggy Whitfield (Dick), of LaGrange and Jane Wade, of Richmond; three grandchildren, Brooke Hudson, Brittany Goss and Taryn Knox and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Durham Memorial Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Ed Denton. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be Corey Vickers, Jim Barbee, Dwight Evans, Larry Evans, Alvin Coffey and Billy Barbee. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 3318 Hursey Street. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to Durham Memorial Baptist Church, Building Fund, 133 Robbins Road, Durham, NC 27703. The family offers special thanks to Louise's loving caregivers, her sister, Hilda Stegall and the Duke HomeCare and Hospice. Arrangements are being handled by Hudson Funeral Home
