In her 83rd year, Mrs. Westbrook’s death was due to infirmities of old age
The deceased was born on January 1, 1866 at Cooks Station, Huntingdon County, a daughter of Allen Edwards and Mary Ann (Price) Edwards.
On September 13, 1892 she was united in marriage to Charles Milton Westbrook of Huntingdon, at Williamsburg. They resided in Huntingdon where Mr. Westbrook continued a retail shoe business started by his grandfather in 1833. Today two of the deceased’s sons carry on the same business which is the oldest store in Huntingdon.
Mrs. Westbrook was a member of the First Methodist Church in Huntingdon. In earlier days she was quite active in the community and church affairs.
She is survived by three sons: C. Edgar Westbrook of Warrior Oaks, Huntingdon, R. D.; A. Lawrence Westbrook, 408 Church Street, Huntingdon, and Kirk M. Westbrook, 501 Washington Street, Huntingdon. A brother, Sherman Edwards of Bruning, Nebraska, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Bechtel funeral home in Huntingdon. The Rev. A. R. Turner will officiate at the services and interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
