William August Diesing, 91 yrs, of Petersburg, MI and Holmes Beach, FL, died Tuesday at Flower Hospital, Sylvania, OH.
Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Friday from 1-8 PM. He will lie in state at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Petersburg from 10 AM until services at 11 AM. Pastor Mark Flory will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg.
Mr. Diesing was born July 13, 1916, in Royal Oak, MI, to William J. and Nellie (Cinader) Diesing. He married Margaret White in Clawson, MI.
A lifetime area potato farmer, he was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church and the Farm Bureau. He also was an associate of Dei Lutheran Church in Holmes Beach, FL, where he and Margaret wintered, and was a member of the Holmes Beach Men's Club.
He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, fishing, traveling, and visiting with neighbors.
Surviving are: his wife, Margaret; two sons, Glenn (Joyce) and Keith (Bonnie), both of Petersbur; three daughters, Diane (Bill) Saylor of Petersburg, Linda (Daniel) Moga of Houston, TX, Janet (Greg) Zeimis, of Bradenton, FL; a daughter-in-law Terry (Mike) Kennedy of Petersburg; two sister, Etta Ellen Kiley of Shelby Twp., MI twelve grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis, and a brother, Melvin.
