Delbert F. Ashbrook, 78, of Rule died Wednesday, April 10, 1996 in Haskell Memorial Hospital. Services were held Friday in Rule First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Carol Crumpton and J. R. Williams officiating. Burial followed in Rule Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Robison Funeral Directors.

Mr. Ashbrook was born in Fort Worth and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He married Elinor "Nell" Woolfolk in 1949 in Fort Worth and worked as a pumper for Amoco for 31 years before retiring.

He moved to Rule 41 years ago and was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors include his wife of Rule, one brother Jack Ashbrook of Fort Wort; three sisters—in-law Ardell Ashbrook of Longview; Lucille Salzberry of Abilene; and Merle Macy of Ft. Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
