Glenn Fuller Rowley was born 13 July 1909 in Saybrook (McLean County), Illinois to Ebenezer Swan Rowley and Cora Estella Fuller.

Glenn's siblings included: Ethel Margaret (b. 1904), Frank Edward (b. 1905), Lucille Mildred (b. 1908), Edith Louise (b. 1911), and Dorothy Alberta (b. 1914). The Rowley family in McLean County, Illinois were strongly connected to the "Friends" faith.

Glenn married Lucille "Cindy" Coale in 1933. He and Cindy had four sons: James Ellis, Don Frederick, Richard Glenn, and Eugene Arthur.

Glenn served in the United States Navy joining in 1928. During World War II, Glenn served aboard the USS Illinois. Cindy and his two eldest sons Don (age 2) and Jim (age 5) were living near Pearl Harbor, Hawaii when the attack on Pearl Harbor commenced on December 7, 1941. Glenn escaped injury because the USS Illinois was out on maneuvers during the attack. Glenn would earn a Bronze Star for several actions in the South Pacific.

Following Glenn's retirement from the Navy 1948, the Rowleys owned a family farm in Napa Valley, California for ten years; however, Cindy missed her family who were now largely located in the Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo County, California area.

Glenn loved fishing. He was always ready to help others. He always wanted to be busy and upon retiring from the Lucia Mar School District maintenance in 1971, Glenn and Cindy went RVing full-time for two years. They saw a large part of the country and visited many relatives not seen for many years.

His partner in life for 59 years, Cindy passed away on 21 Jan 1993 in San Luis Obispo County, California. Glenn missed Cindy greatly, and when his children would ask why he didn't keep company with any of the women in his neighborhood, Glenn would quietly say that his Cindy was the only woman for him.

Glenn passed away on 20 April 2004 in Grover Beach, San Luis Obispo County, California.
